In 1991, four original characters representing air, land, water and living creatures, collectively called Earth's Troubadours, performed in a musical to raise ecological awareness in young people called Kids Saving Planet Earth (KSPE).
Earth’s Troubadours toured throughout the New York Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT) school system and recorded the songs, which Kidsday (Newsday) reviewed as "...terrific."
The Yamaha Music Foundation, Tokyo, Japan took the concept, translated and sub-published the music and staged an expanded version of KSPE called Magic Mountain. They utilized the four original characters as the inspiration to a group of kids who got lost on a hiking trip to think more environmentally. Upon receipt of the video presentation, it was evident we had the right idea, but our musical messages were much more effective hearing the songs sung by kids to other kids themselves.
Now Earth's Troubadours (the four original characters and a dozen kids of all ages) were performing songs from KSPE and new material for the Global Youth Forum (UN General Assembly), Earth Day (South Street Seaport) UCP's Festival of Trees, The Children's Expo, New York Eco-Fest, Variety's Children's Charities, Walk-Fest, Fun-Fest, etc.
Earth's Troubadours' songs have been heard on children's radio stations from New York to Alaska.
Hershey Park, Hershey, PA. licensed songs from the KSPE collection for their live daily performances by their Green Team.
